Physical Materials


The library offers a wide variety of books, audiobooks, newspapers, magazines, large print books, music CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays for all ages. Visit our policies page for information on our lending policies, or access the library catalog to search what we have to offer.

Museum and Garden Passes

Book Bundles

The library offers a variety of book bundles for both adult and juvenile materials. To review the book bundles lending policy, please visit our policies page.

American Girl Dolls

Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library card holders in good standing may borrow a variety of American Girl dolls. An open door
Room Reservation
The library has 3 small study rooms and 1 large meeting room that can be divided.

Small Study Rooms

The small study room is a space for short meetings, independent study, and testing or tutoring. It may be reserved by library staff and valid Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library cardholders. The small study room has a maximum capacity of four people.

The small study rooms may be reverved by patrons through our online reservation system. Patrons are allowed up to 3 concurrent 15-minute to 1-hour reservations a day and may only request up to 2 days in advance.

Large Meeting Room

The library’s large meeting room is available to non-profit, community, and government organizations only with preference given to those located in Washington Township.

The large meeting room can be requested through our online reservation system or by submitting a completed meeting room application and hold harmless agreement and submitting it to the library or emailing it to meetingroom@hegganlibrary.org. Requests will be pending on further approval.

Library Computers


The library hosts 28 public computers, with 18 computers in our adult computer lab, 6 in our young adult computer lab, and 2 internet computers and 2 early literacy entertainment computers in our children’s library.

Our adult and teen public computers feature software including:

Stations feature headphones and DVD R/RW, and are protected with Faronics Anti-Virus and DeepFreeze. Information saved to the hard drive is automatically cleared after every session.

The library also features five Online Public Catalog (OPAC) stations throughout the building for easy access to the library catalog.

Printing and Copy Services


The library has two self service copier and printers. Patrons can print from the adult or young adult computer labs and retrieve their print jobs from the self service station in front of the adult computer lab.
Prints and copies are 15 cents a page for black and white jobs, or 25 cents a page for color jobs.

Mobile Printing Service


Patrons are able to print from their laptops or mobile devices by using our mobile print service. Either download the Princh App, sending their document via email to heggan-bw@ewprints.com for black and white jobs or heggan-color@ewprints.com for color jobs, or by visiting the mobile printing page on our website.

Scanning


The library has one scanner in the adult computer lab capable of scanning documents and pictures onto one of our public computers.

Fax Service


The library offers an outgoing fax service at our circulation desk. Faxes cost $1 per page. Fax services cease 15 minutes before the library closes.

Public Wi-Fi


The library offers public Wi-Fi 24/7 via multiple access points across our building. Our Wi-Fi signal names are all Library_PUBLIC and there is no password required for access.

The library provides a number of apps available on tablets and mobile devices that allow patrons to borrow materials, print, and more!

Adult Reference

Our adult reference desk is located in front of our adult computer lab, to the right of the library’s main entrance. Our librarians can help you find materials, with research, and other reference services. A child
Our Youth Services department provides a wealth of services for our community’s children, teens, and their caretakers. Please visit our youth services page for more information on the services that we provide.

The children’s library is located in front of the circulation desk, to the left of the library entrance. The children’s library contains our juvenile books and movies as well as the children’s story room, Lego play desks, early literacy gaming computers, and juvenile internet computers.
