How do I ... Get a Library Card

Library CardTo receive your card, bring proof of your residency in Washington Township to the library. Acceptable forms of Identification are listed below. Library cards are issued to residents age 3 or over. Children must be present to receive a card. Cards are renewed every 3 years. At renewal you will be asked again for proof of residency. 

Free cards are also issued to Washington Township Public School employees, Washington Township municipal employees, property or business owners in Washington Township, Gloucester County employees working in Washington Township, and employees of non-profits located in Washington Township. These cards are renewed every year. At renewal you will be asked for identification.

Acceptable forms of Identification (current date only):

  • Bank statement
  • Car insurance card
  • Car registration
  • Checks imprinted with name and address
  • Credit card statement
  • Deed to Washington Township property (identification for property owners)
  • Driver’s license
  • Non-driver’s ID
  • Pay stub (identification for school, municipal, county and non-profit employees)
  • Rent or lease receipt
  • Tax receipt or tax bill (identification for property or business owners)
  • Utility bill

Non-residents not included in the above categories must bring two forms of Identification from the list. There is a $35.00 per person, per year fee. Library cards are issued to non-residents age 3 or over. Children must be present to receive a card.
